During the restoration of the house, the conservation of the original character of the structure had top priority. Yet, some changes were necessary: the terraces on the roofs, the swimming-pool, the gardens and the gates in wrought iron are the signs of the last renewals, but all the possible traces of the country culture have been maintained. The most important are the following:

BUTTERFLY and RONDINE were the heart of the house occupied by the lease-holder family. Before the fireplace the family gathered in the evening to tell and listen to stories nad legends about old customs. In the place of the present kitchen there was an ancient stone-washbasin which is now in the apartment Puccini. The other rooms were used either as deposits for tools or as bedrooms according to the needs of the family.
Particulary interesting in RONDINE is a body-bolster which was restored after an earthquake occurred in the 17th century. Overlapping traces of the former and later architecture are still visible.
TURANDOT e TOSCA, once the cells of the Benedectine monks, were the apartments of the tenant families. Families of more than 20 people are said to have lied here. And finally BOHEME; it was the pigeon loft of the house. In the external front-wall, it is till possible to see many holes as bird-nests.
